Colorful Creative Printables Ideas is here to help you with your planning, party, and creating needs. In this post, we will cover the basics of what is out there and how to get started.

There are so many different styles of printables like planners, calendars, party invites, coloring pages and so much more.

Let’s Talk About It!

Planners & Printables

Creating a printable planner can be a fantastic way to help you organize your time and tasks more effectively. Here’s a brief overview of essential items you might include in a planner:

  1. Dates and Calendar: Monthly, weekly, and daily views for easy navigation and long-term planning.
  2. Daily Schedules: Hourly slots or a to-do list for daily activities and appointments.
  3. Goals Section: Space for writing down short-term and long-term goals to keep users motivated.
  4. Task Lists: Checklists for daily, weekly, or project-specific tasks.
  5. Priorities: A section to highlight the day or week’s most critical tasks.
  6. Notes Area: Blank or lined pages for jotting down ideas, thoughts, or important information.
  7. Reminders Section: Space for upcoming important dates, deadlines, or events.
  8. Habit Trackers: Tools to monitor progress on habits or routines.
  9. Budget Tracker: Pages to note expenses and manage finances.
  10. Inspirational Quotes or Affirmations: To motivate and inspire users daily.
  11. Contact Pages: Space for keeping track of important contacts and addresses.
  12. Custom Sections: Depending on the target audience, you might include meal planning, workout logs, reading lists, or project planning areas.

Remember, the key to an effective planner is not just in the variety of sections but in the layout and design that make it user-friendly and appealing to you. Each element should serve a purpose and add value to the planner’s overall functionality.

Calendar Printables Ideas

Do you love a colorful calendar or a minimalistic style? I am more of a colorful gal, but I also love a calendar that is easy on the printer, but either way you can be covered.

When I look on Etsy or any other printables shop, I see a lot of colorful calendars, but on the other hand, I see very minimal calendars. So there is a market for both.

Making printable calendars is fun and easy to create on Canva. There are elements for grids and fonts, even with the free version, you have some creative choices.

90% of my graphics for my printable calendars come from AI or my personal artwork. I go between three platforms for my AI graphics. Dalle3, Night Cafe, and Canva’s own AI. I am still dabbling in Midjourney, but so far, I have been happy with the others.

I like to create dated and undated calendars to sell in my shops. I can then bundle them together if needed for extra value.

Party Needs & Printables Ideas

Yes, you can create your party invites and/or party games on Canva! There are 100’s of templates available for you to customize or just create your own! I like to create my own graphics I created and add them to it.

Doing it this way makes them very unique and you can incorporate them into other items for the party, like candy bar wrappers, party games, invitations, and more.

You can also add a photo of the birthday person, anniversary, or wedding couple, etc.

This is such a great money saver. Instead of ordering the printed invites, you can print them out on your printer on a nice cardstock and make them into postcards!

If you create them to sell, for instance on Etsy, you can offer personalization. This is on my bucket list to do. Personalized party invites are better sellers.

If you are creating them to sell, be careful of copyrighted images. No Mickey Mouse, or Barbie, etc. Just because you see them on Etsy, does not mean it is legal.

I create many of my own graphics using AI or my own watercolor clip art.

Clip Art

You can create many things with AI. When I am making clip art for my printables, the prompt I give with the description ends with “on a plain white background”. In Canva, the paid version, you can remove the background and make such cute individual pieces.

My favorite clip art to make is when I ask it to make rainbow colors. My granddaughters love rainbow and if you ask them when their favorite colors are, they will say rainbow.

An easy prompt to give would be: “Create a rainbow-colored seashell on a white background.” You would be surprised at what comes up!

Another type of clip art, that I am currently working on, is with my watercolors. More of that to come in the future. I am in the process of painting my own clip art, and want to have a collection finished before I market them.

Another great place to get clip art is Creative Fabrica. This is a valuable resource for any creator to find graphics. They have millions of graphics, clip art, fonts, SVG’s. Be sure to check on the Terms of Use for each one. You can find Commercial and POD on many.

Coloring Page Printables

You can create your very own coloring pages in DALLE-3 or even Canva!

These samples are just a few I made with basic prompts in 10 minutes. All 7 of them.

As you can see, some of them have a lot of greyscale, and that can be taken care of inside Canva. You can also use more detailed prompts in your AI descriptions. Or just keep them simple. Without a lot of detail.

I will say though DALLE-3 is coming a long way on creating coloring pages. I have been working on a ChatGPT prompt creator just for creating coloring pages.

If you want to create these pages to resell in a coloring book or as PLR, you will need to learn more about margins, making borders, and size in general.

If you want to make some for your kids, simply prompt AI to image with this. “Please create an image of a coloring page of a cute little pig sitting and smiling”. Next, all you need to do is download and print.

The possibilities are endless on how many printables you can create. I mention throughout that I use Canva and the reason I do is because it is so user-friendly and there is so much you can create on that platform.

Stay Colorful, Stay Creative, and HAVE FUN!
